ABOUT

OUR STORY

We are sisters with over 45 years of combined experience supporting children and families in the public school system. Nicole is a former middle school Language Arts teacher, and Stacie is a middle school counselor. Throughout our careers, we’ve shared a passion for helping children thrive—and a desire to better support parents along the way.

In our work, we both noticed a consistent pattern. Nicole saw students struggling with reading, writing, sound-letter recognition, and speaking with confidence. Stacie saw how many of these challenges were connected to parents wanting to help—but not always having the tools or guidance to do so effectively.

That’s why we came together to create this course.

Our goal is to empower parents with simple, practical strategies they can use in everyday life to support their child’s language development. Through play, connection, reading, outdoor experiences, mindful screen use, and healthy routines, we help you turn ordinary moments into meaningful opportunities for growth.

Because when parents feel confident, children thrive—not just in language, but socially, emotionally, and physically.

BELIEF #1

Every Moment Matters

We believe that a child’s language is built in the small, everyday moments—through conversation, play, and connection, not just formal teaching.

BELIEF #2

Parents are a child's first and most important teacher.

We believe parents don’t need to be experts—they just need the right tools, guidance, and confidence to support their child’s growth.

BELIEF #3

Whole child development fuels language growth.

We believe language develops best when children are supported socially, emotionally, and physically—through play, outdoor experiences, healthy routines, and meaningful connection.

"This time last year, I was a frazzled mother of 2, just barely getting by. Thanks to Ground Up’s course, I feel confident I have the parenting skills in need to support my child."
